Daily Precipitation over the Tibetan Plateau and Its Surrounding during 1979-2015

The data set includes meteorological stations observed daily precipitation in Qinghai, Tibetan Autonomous Region, Sichuan, Gansu, Yunnan and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Time period starts from 1979 to 2015. There are 184 stations.

The data set is in a compressed tar ball and is named as TPS_daily_precip.tar.gz. Users can use Unix/Linux command “tar –xzf TPS_daily_precip.tar.gz” to decompress and open it. The tar ball contains 184 stations observed daily precipitation. The file name is composed of station id and .txt. There are four columns in each station file, representing Year, Month, Day, and Precipitation (Units:mm), respectively.

Station meta data is in file stations_meta_SR.txt. The meta file is composed of 6 columns, representing Station ID, Latitude, Longitude, Elevation (units: m), Station name and Province, respectively.

The data set is not processed and is presented as its original values.
